Domi meaning “to sleep” in Creole Haitian is an intentionally small, independently owned off shoot of designer Ali Blankley’s high end label, Hazel Brown. Born and raised in Canada, she has lived and worked on both US coasts but has recently settled back in Los Angeles where she creates in a spacious studio drenched in natural sunlight.
Ali’s Domi evolution was inspired by a trip through the state of Gujarat in India. It was here she fell in love with the simple organic cottons woven by local village artisans. Since it’s beginning in 2013 the brand has evolved organically and now includes bedding and organic cotton knits(lounge wear). With an emphasis on keeping it simple, she is excited to be soon offering a small collection of pared down “day wear”.
